The Fairmont Washington DC Georgetown is the place to stay to enjoy the festive holiday decorations and activities. The courtyard is beautifully decorated with lights and a large Christmas tree. The lobby has one of the largest Gingerbread Houses that you can actually walk through and the kids can visit with Santa in either the Gingerbread House or in a special suite in the hotel at different times during the week. All of the staff provided wonderful service for guests having beverages and food in the lobby lounge or courtyard bar area.
Recommend reserving a room overlooking the courtyard to enjoy the lights. The Gold Floor is also highly recommended for the excellent service, plus the morning breakfast and afternoon canapes in the lounge.
The Fairmont Washington DC is an easy walk to Georgetown and a short taxi/Uber/Lyft ride to downtown museums and other attractions. We look forward to returning again.

A mouse in the lobby!

Relatively poor experience. I’m an Accor gold and booked on an Amex Platinum rate. No review of amenities on check-in. No one else was in line. Room was ok. Toilet never stopped running. Called don’t desk asked for someone to fix-it. Never done. No turn-down service whatsoever. Came back late at night there was a mouse running through the lobby.…

No one beyond the bar-tender working for the hotel could be located though I didn’t look hard. Sunday brunch at Juniper was beyond unimpressive. Server was rude. The best thing about it was leaving.

Good choice when in DC

We stay here often for the large and comfortable rooms and because it's quiet and peaceful compared to other DC area hotels. Large bathrooms and immaculate cleanliness is also a positive. The staff is very professional
Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the chaotic breakfast room . We sometimes go out for breakfast to avoid it.

Great proximity to Georgetown and a mile from the National Gallery. The hotel was clean, service was exceptional and the bed was comfortable. If you're a walker, its a great hotel to get your steps in because its about a mile to Georgetown, a mile to Dupont Circle and a couple of miles to the capital.

We went during a beautiful time of the year so seasonal decorations were going up and the city itself was rather quiet after the election.
Only complaint was that there was a weird noise that sounded like metal pinging that went off around 2 a.m. but became persistant starting at 7:30 a.m. It wasn't enough to complain about bc I was already up by then but may be an issue for light sleepers. Just an FYI..
Aside from that would definitely return to this location as its such a beautiful walk into Georgetown.
