Your rooms is made to feel like a home from home. with bespoke furniture and unique artwork that keeps each room different, and will give you that warm-fuzzy feeling (don't worry - there is aircon for those summer trips!). No Goodbyes is the all day hangout thats on hand to cure those cravings, from coffee to cocktails, and brunch to late night bites. There's even a record player and a huge vinyl collection on hand for you to pick your own soundtrack.

I loved staying at The Line. The room had a nice personal touch that made me feel warm and welcome. They provide you with a nice robe and slippers too. I also liked having access to the bar downstairs. The closest metro isn’t that close but the walk isn’t bad.

Until this hotel property is under new ownership, management and staffing DO NOT STAY HERE. The list of basic things The Line DC gets wrong would take hours to write--but I can sum it up in one story.
- When you enter your room, there is a placard with the option of ordering breakfast. My room didn't have an ink pen so I punched holes in my food choices.
- I ordered a bagel sandwich with eggs/bacon, and a latte.
- The next morning when I checked out, I attempted to pay for my breakfast at the front desk. The front desk agent working that day informed me she didn't know how to do that, so I left the breakfast charge on my AMEX for incidentals.
- The Line DC charged me $59 dollars for that breakfast.
- I returned to the property, both confused and unhappy. The front desk person showed me the computer screen where it showed a credit for $59 dollars. Unable to discern my concerns, the front desk person gave my information to the MOD.
- I received a call from the MOD who informed me that room service at The Line DC is subject to an EIGHTY ONE PERCENT surcharge, which is why my $28 dollar breakfast actually cost $59.
- I also learned that The Line DC charges a surcharge for "amenities" (fitness room, wetbar, snack bar) whether you use them or not. That was an additional hidden charge.
- So my prepaid stay at The Line DC was 42% more than advertised, beyond "incidentals" and hidden surcharges.
In an odd way this ordeal would be okay if worth the money--but I cannot overstate how poor the quality, service and atmosphere is at this stellar property. Nobody is in a particular hurry to assist guests, and when pressed will defer, deflect and fail to deliver what are the basics in hospitality. Staying at The Line DC is the equivalent of going to McDonalds and paying $1000 dollars for meal and getting cold McNuggets and no french fries.

We stayed in room 511 in January 25. Both nights we were subjected to music coming from a club across the street until 2am. I called the front desk and they offered to send up earplugs then called 20 minutes later to say they could not find any! Trust me, this is loud and disturbing. Not sure how there aren’t other complaints. We were attending a…

Not sure how there aren’t other complaints. We were attending a wedding and heard the same complaint from other wedding guests. There are many nice things about this hotel and service and would be a 5 if we were in a room on the other side of the hotel!

Fraudulent charges

Comfortable hotel but terrible, fraudulent service. The hotel put multiple unauthorized charges on my credit card, refused to speak or explain them to me on the phone, and hung up on me. Am disputing these charges. Beware of giving your card information to them.
OK place to stay. Will look elsewhere next time.

We stayed here with other family members over Christmas in order to be close to family in DC. The room rate was excellent but the cost of having valet car service was almost equivalent to the room charge given all the taxes and fees. Buyer beware. Room was adequate but warm. We even turned off the HVAC but it was still too warm to sleep with the comforter on. The restaurant area is spacious and inviting, however, the food was disappointing especially given the cost. Lobby was dark and we had a hiccup at check-in which caused a delay. Exercise room was very nice.
