Apsara Beachfront Resort & Villa

Khao Lak, Thailand

Virgin rating

The hotel

You could be forgiven for thinking the Apsara is only for water babies, with its beachfront setting, infinity swimming pool, villa pool, two kids' pools, pool villa upgrades, water slide and of course, the obligatory Jacuzzi. But there’s more to the Apsara than sun, sea and sand. Set in unspoilt tropical greenery, along Pakarang Beach, this All Inclusive haven offers a range of drinks and things to do. There’s the Thai cookery classes, Thai boxing, spa treatments, bike rental and kayaking to name but a few!

The Staff are amazing The site is amazing The hotel it self is amazing Ofcourse you'll read comments saying the staff we not superb but I would strongly disagree. They work long hours and are hard working but the hotel looks after then well, which us always a good sign. I work in the industry and can tell by the low staff turnover. The genuinely love their jobs. The hotel itself is played back not pretentious. Some guests I over heard saying it looked tired but I disagree. Sure every hospitality business has had set backs with covid etc but you can see that it is being maintained and rooms are being refurbished. Even without these upgrades we would happily go every year. It was my forth visit in the last 9 years and it truly was special. I couldn't reccomend it enough. If you are looking for a nice relaxed holiday them this is were I would send you. Enjoy! And thank you Apsara and the amazing team you have. See you soon!! Chef Ian Read less

We had the most absolutely amazing stay here for 8 days. Once arrived we were immediatly greeted by the warmest people, and this continued throughout our stay, everybody that works there is so warm and pure and friendly. We had the all in formula and staid in a swim up room. Restaurant is buffet, every evening in another theme, so that was very nice. It is also the first time we used all the amenities; spa, dry cleaning, all in, excursions, etc... We did the mix of lazy beachholiday + more actively doing various excursions. Rooms are very spacious, pool area very nice, infinity pool overlooking the ocean. There is a bus from the hotel that drives to the town, so this is very convenient. We booked several excursions via the hotel, also nothing but praise about this. Same for the spa which we booked every other day, nothing but praise. All and all an almost perfect stay. If there is 1 thing that could maybe have some improvement it's the all in formula, altough for Thailand a very nice all in formula, it starts at 11 in the morning, which I find rather late and also, but this is purely personal I really like when i'm at the pool that the waiter walks around and asks what you want to drink and then brings it, but as said this is purely me being lazy on holiday :p, the bar is like 10 steps from the pool. For the rest we will definitely be coming back and I would recommend it to everybody. And again a very special thanks to the staff, they are amazing. Read less

The staff is beyond perfect and our whole holiday was perfect too. The hotel is clean and very authentic. The beach is super close and the pool is lovely. The food is not what we expected from "all inclusive" but we are not disapointed. The food varies every day and the quality is perfect! The hotels location is very quite, but we loved that it was'nt noisy at all, it was very relaxing! All our needs were met, especially by Yudi from the reception. Were totally planning to come back! Resort: We visited Apsara for our final 5 nights in Thailand as part of a honeymoon 15 night trip around south Thailand. This resort is beautiful, super relaxing, luxury. All of the Staff are really friendly and smiley (shoutout to Suzy on reception who was especially helpful!) We stayed in the hotel on the resort side of the complex, so can’t comment on the villa’s side, although we did take a walk through one time and it looked amazing! Food: We were all inclusive and the food was surprisingly tasty and varied, much better than you would expect from all inclusive buffet! There are 2x other A-la-carte restaurants on the resort you can book in and pay to visit but we didn’t so can’t comment on those, but they certainly look beautiful! Location: As stated in many previous reviews, the area is pretty quiet, it’s a relaxing resort. There is a cool beach bar walking distance along the beach called Memories, which hosts a full moon party once a month and if you’re about when it’s on you should 100% go, we had a great time… DJ’s, Fire Dancing, and all sorts, it was brilliant! For us 5 nights was enough in such a quiet place, and tbh after day 2 we ended up hiring a scooter for 500 tbht and heading out to explore what is around (we ended up going bamboo rafting in the nearby national park which was a cool experience) so yeah for us, who had come from busier towns & cities such as Phuket and Krabi, Khao Lak was a bit on the quiet side… but that’s exactly the idea I guess, to relax and chill out, we just can’t seem to do that! 😂 but we met plenty of other couples who were staying here for 14 nights and loving just relaxing and taking it easy in such a beautiful part of the world. We spent a great week in this quiet and beautiful place. Great location if you look for peace and quiet. Helpful and hospitable staff. We took all inclusive and did not regret it. Great choice of local and European dishes, drinks throughout the day, we did not have to think about food.
