We are Legendary members. We were staying at Hard rock Cancun and were given a day pass to check out the resort. Upon arrival at 9am we noticed just how massive the hotel was. Check in wasn’t an issue. Was quick to get our day bracelets. We then realized that the resort is massive. Took us a while to walk to find the breakfast buffet. A lot Of stores/restaurants were still under construction and not open.
We finally made it to the pool area. As a family with kids we went to the kid park /slides.. that’s when we realized quickly that this resort isn’t for us. We have a 3 and 1 year old and for what ever reason there is MARBLE around the water park/kid pool. Marble surface and wet kids running around is a recipe for disaster. Yes, my son fell and got slightly hurt. Luckily nothing major!
The legendary pool is all the way the other end of the resort. Also not safe. There’s a decorative trench around the pool with people’s/rocks.. of course my son was throwing them in. So we promptly left the resort. The beach isn’t anything special. Very murky water.
We stayed for a total of 2.5 hours in our day pass and went back to our favourite place! HR Cancun. We will never spend our money at this resort.

We returned recently from a two week stay at Ava. The hotel is beautiful and we had a great time. The staff is amazing. When we entered the hotel, Axel greeted us and served as an interface to staff. He was terrific and made sure to check up on us regularly.. The restaurants were. quite good, better than most all inclusives. One of our favorites was Livo, where our server Freddie went out of his way to make our meal enjoyable. The red snapper was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. It was so good that when we returned ,I ordered the same dish. He even made a special coffee for us. At Bao, Louis impressed us with his creations. Our other favorites were Black Iron and Chez Moi. We sat at the legendary pool.which was beautiful although a little chilly. Our pool servers changed regularly as they were reassigned to other sections but Lalo,Angel and Jose frequently checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed even when they weren’t taking care of our section. The hotel is still being completed but new activities opened daily, a simulator, a ninja like obstacle course for kids. Activities which were only on the north side began in the south pools as well. When everything is completed Ava will be an amazing place.

Worst Resort. Stay away!

This was the worst resort our family has ever stayed in. It took an hour and a half to check in. Then although we made our reservations online two weeks before we arrived, they had no record of them in the system. One team of people has no idea what the other team of people is doing. It is not a club kids club, they’re just random activities throughout the day. That being said nine times out of 10 the person leading the activity didn’t show up. The whole time that you’re here, they only try to upsell you to a membership. There are a lot of staff and they are friendly but again no one knows what they are doing. There seems to be absolutely no management. I’ve never been more frustrated or upset or disappointed about a vacation. This might be my own review, but speak to anybody in the lobby and they will tell you the exact same thing. Stay away!
