A trip to the Maldives should always be reserved for ‘special’ occasions and this was our 3rd trip in 10 years (celebrating a birthday and a milestone wedding anniversary). Cinnamon Hakurra had a lot to live up to as our previous experiences to Kurumathi and Dhonvelhi had simply been excellent. Once again the Maldives came up with the goods. The island(s) are simply stunning and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated like royalty. We split our 10 day holiday into 2 different experiences. Our accommodation for the first 5 days was an over water villa on the ‘main’ island. We spent the second 5 days in a platinum beach villa on the smaller, and slightly more private island. Both were fantastic but if we were to choose a favourite it would be the beach villa and the smaller island but only because the ‘vibe’ there felt a little more in keeping with the Maldives experience we had enjoyed on previous holidays. The restaurants on both islands were superb with a great choice of food to suit every taste on the buffets and with perfect, attentive service from the waiting staff. If we were to offer any form of negative criticism it would only be about the evening entertainment in the bar on the larger island which at times felt a little ‘out of place’. Eg. There’s a time and a place for ‘Karaoke’ but it isn’t the Maldives! That said it was very low key and inoffensive and it didn’t spoil our experience of the holiday. We realise that Cinnamon are trying to cater for a wider audience but for us personally it just didn’t feel like the Maldives that we knew and loved on that particular evening. No review from an English person would be complete without a mention of the weather! We did get some rain (unusual for January in the Maldives) but it was mostly overnight and again didn’t spoil our wonderful experience. Thankyou to everyone in Cinnamon Hakurra Hurra for another enjoyable Maldives holiday. Read less

We are currently staying at the Cinnamon Hakurra Hurra island in the Maldives celebrating our 60th birthday. Our room boy Humaidh did the most beautiful bed art decoration today for us, he is generally so attentive but this was the icing on the cake. Every resort needs a Humaidh nothing is to much trouble for him 🫶.

A fabulous week at Hakuraa Huraa staying in one of their water villas. This was our 6th stay in the Maldives and it did not disappoint compared to the other islands we visited. The resort has a very relaxed vibe with friendly staff and we had a lovely welcome after our seaplane transfer , which we chose over the speedboat transfer( and it seemed most guests had as the speedboat trip is a long one). The water villa was excellent, recently refurbished, beautifully furnished and very spacious. We loved the double bathroom with separate shower and toilet, the lighting and particularly the large glass panel in the bedroom floor which we saw sharks, bluefins and parrot fish every day. The villa was equipped with everything you need mini fridge, tea /coffee,tv, lovely sofa and chairs. The villas deck was lovely to chill on either during the day or night with two sunbed chairs but best of all a large comfy corner seat that two of us could lie in comfortably. You can snorkel of swim at higher tide straight off the steps to the sea. Thanks to our villa cleaner Habeeb for making it look perfect each day after his service. The buffet restaurant was very good with a large variety of dishes every breakfast, lunch and dinner, many of which were cooked live as you wished. The salad room was a treat with lots of lovely fresh food and the pasta station was another favourite.Other islands we’ve stayed on have themed evenings taking you around the world of food on different nights, this didn’t but there was plenty of variety. We had a lovely waiter Fulhu, throughout all of dining in the main restaurant, he was always smiling and welcoming, and remembered our favourite drinks at every sitting, a genuinely nice guy. We had a romantic meal included in our package and so dined in the Crab restaurant and both enjoyed our four course meals one seafood and one non seafood which were very high quality. Rumesh was a very friendly host/waiter there. The island is surrounded by white sand beach, is beautifully and naturally landscaped making walking around or across it a pleasure at all times. The island does not have a house reef close to the beach or water villas but all guests can take the complimentary boat trip to excellent coral reefs just a 5 minute sail from reception every morning and afternoon . We did this every day as the quality of coral and tropical fish varieties wee amazing. We saw factional turtles, reef sharks and eagle rays on these snorkel trips. We also went in the optional snorkel with nurse shark trip with the Dive Centre team and this was fantastic. We enjoyed excellent Balinese massages at the Mandara spa from the very lovely Tera and Nia. The bar was the focus after dinner and provided a really relaxed atmosphere with good singing and music from the duo who played 4 times during the week and also provided a fun Kareoke night . Everything was ok. Food was various and plenty, wi-fi was perfect (also inside the water bungalow), sea and beach were incredible, the reef was near and snorkeling was easy
