The hotel

The All Inclusive Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall offers a huge range of room options, all with gorgeous views of the surrounding tropical gardens or the ocean. You can even choose a room with direct pool access or upgrade to Club Level for special privileges. Tucked between the mountains and the sea, it’s hailed as a paradise of rest, relaxation and recreation and rightly so! Prepare yourself for 'Service from the Heart!' — a genuine warm Jamaican welcome and service with a smile. For something a little special, head to the spa for a relaxing massage or body wrap. Whilst you do, the kids can play with other youngsters at their very own club, building sandcastles or getting stuck into some arts and crafts. With regards to restaurants, you’ll find plenty on your doorstep — at the Ziva, there’s a whole range of world cuisines to choose from! Visit Italy one night, and Asia when the mood takes you. We doubt very much you’ll be homesick but if you are, head to Union Jack’z — an English tavern that not only serves pub favourites but also features live music too. Alternatively, sip on cocktails on the rooftop at the Moroccan-inspired Fez.

Excellent experience at both properties Ziva and Zilara. The food was great, the entertainment was amazing and the accommodations exceeded my expectations. I would defintiely recommend this resort whether you are on the family side or the adult only isde, you will have a great experience.

The mattress was so soft. I had back pain after sleeping on it the first night. The check-in staff could be more pleasant. A few need more customer service training. Overall, the experience with this resort is ok. Food at the buffet was ok. Probably won't be back.

Bad experience, hotel is dated needs to be updated as soon as possible. Staff is rude, specially at the buffet. In general you don’t feel welcome. Food and drinks are not good at all. Beach and pool are ok but i would never recommend this place to anyone.

With very mixed reviews, I came to the resort very skeptical but everything was excellent! Beautiful resort and the room was great. With very mixed reviews, I came to the resort very skeptical but everything was excellent! Beautiful resort and the room was great. I had read about issues with the rooms feeling musty and warm but ours was nice and cold and the bed was very comfortable. Check in process was seamless and the staff was very friendly. We bounced back and forth between Ziva and Zilyara for the pools and club in the evening. Entertainment was great and food was good. I would absolutely go back! Read less

Overall, this is a nice little hotel. As with them all, there are both pros and cons to be aware of. Pros: - Beach and water are gorgeous, and the rock wall breaks the waves so it’s fabulous for kids (or anyone who likes calmer water) - “Quiet” Pool and swim up bar are the best spot to set up for the day - can still hear the music so there is a nice vibe but it’s not as noisy (Bartender Donjay is the best and was so cute with our kids) - Food and drinks are not amazing but are generally good. Loved how they do lots of local fare at the buffet and a nice mix of a la carte restaurants (Calypso was our fave) - Butlers were amazing if you choose to go that route. Worren, Rayan and Kevin were ours - all SO helpful and responsive and WAY better value than we’ve gotten for this type of experience in the past - Rooms are very spacious, beds comfy, big balconies and beautiful views - In general, people were friendly and we had good service - Daily morning yoga on the dock with Caroline was lovely and so well done - Barefoot Jerk hut was a hit - tasty and easy to just grab while you're at the pool or beach Cons: - The hotel itself is dated. Hallways are dingy and have a terrible sickeningly sweet air freshener constantly being funneled into them. Door handles are coming off, etc. General repairs and maintenance and some updating are needed. - Kids club is VERY average, and really only for toddlers. Our 6 year olds wanted nothing to do with it. That said, our kids did pizza making in the Italian restaurant, and face painting/bracelet making by the pool with the kids club team and had fun with both of those - We could have sworn we saw a kids pool / waterpark area advertised somewhere - this definitely does not exist (and would be really helpful if it did) - All the water sports are for age 7 up only, which was very disappointing to our 6 year olds - Music / activities over the megaphone at the activities pool are too loud if you're doing anything else but participating in them - Evening shows start late for littles (9pm) - would be great if they were an hour earlier Read less
