From the time we arrived at Male Airport, the staff and slickness of the operation to get us onboard the seaplane to our arrival on Kuredu was amazing. We arrived to local Maldivians playing musical instruments, we were assigned a rep who would answer any questions we may have during our stay. Cool towels and a drink were given to us on arrival which were appreciated as the temperature was 29 degrees. We stayed in a beach bungalow, the view was simply amazing, we were on the quieter side of the Island, which was fine with us, we had the beach all to ourselves for the best part of the 8 nts we stayed. We snorkelled in the lagoon with the odd baby shark and Ray, which was truly special. Our room attendant was called Faiz, he was Maldivian and a true knowledgeable gentleman, a total inspiration, an asset to Kuredu, he made our 8 nts memorable even surprising us with an anniversary surprise. Then entertainment was held in different Bars every evening, you could dip in or our of these, everything was so laid back. The food was simply amazing, wide variety, different theme every night, and they catered to everyone’s needs. Our Waiter Manu was helpful and went out of his way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Our one treat was to visit the 5:8 restaurant on a nearby Island, (we chose the Land and Vegetarian option), there are only 10 tables so is never overcrowded, the meals are all served at the same time, drinks are not included in the price, also make sure if you are paying cash, you have the newest notes as older versions of dollars may not be taken, which could be embarrassing for you. It was an amazing experience but pricey, however, we thought it was incredibly good value for money. Tips: • Always be friendly to the staff (we witnessed a couple of guests being very demanding) • Watch the wildlife from the end of the jetty at night, you can see Turtles, Ray's and Sharks plus plenty of species of fish, plus there is a bar if you would like a drink. • Take and use a good insect spray with deet....you will need this, spray it on your lounger, lower legs and beach towel. • Take a good sun factor protection. • Walk around the island and take part in the free introductory classes. • Take cash for tipping the staff who look after you. Our only negative is that there were not many Maldivians employees on the Island which is a shame. (a reason could be a possible change in their working conditions made many leave but knows!!!! The guys at the O Bar were always on fire to get a drink delivered and again - always a smile and a laughter! Read less

Stayed for 10 days at the beginning of December at the O Resort in a Premium Beach Villa. I’m going to address the negatives first for me.. 1. Room situated on the side with the water breakers which wasn’t that picturesque and by mid morning there was only ankle deep water, so could not swim by your room after midday 2. Meant to be a no shoe island but the walk from our villa to the o resort pool/restaurant was basically pavement with a tiny dusting of sand with huge stoney potholes, so did wear flip flops everyday 3. Mosquitoes/sand flies were a nightmare, by the time we left we both had over 40 bites each. We tried everything, even had our room fogged. The management said that the bugs have become immune to all the potions you can buy and it’s a tropical island you have to just deal with it. I will say other people didn’t have one bite so I’m not saying the same will happy to you. 4. The main part of the resort was too busy for us so if you are looking for peace and relaxation choose either O resort or if you can really afford to splash out Sangu. Everything about Sangu is what I always pictured the Maldives to be, the other fell a bit short of that for me. Positives 1. The staff here are absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble for any of them, I honestly cannot praise them enough. A big shout out to Anil who cleaned our room twice a day, I don’t think these guys get enough recognition and remember to tip them at the end of your stay too. 2. The food is really good, fresh and varied. I never struggled for something to eat. 3. Take the free sunset tour it’s so worth it and saw loads of dolphins. Overall would I come back - no I wouldn’t… it all fell a bit short for me, maybe my fault for choosing a big resort but it was too busy in the main part and felt like I was around a pool in Europe with the crowding, children, people being rowdy and drinking - hence we tended to stay away. The O resort is quiet which is lovely but if I’d have known I would have picked a room round the other side without the breakers as it wasn’t the clear water beautiful sands that I imagined of the Maldives. If you are choosing Kuredu, head for Sangu, I would say you get what you pay for but the whole island is expensive, but that is the idyllic Maldives that I was expecting. Read less

Kuredu beach villas are cozy and clean. In the lagoon you can observe beautiful sea turtles, colorful fishes and calm warm water. Villas are cleaned twice a day which is great. Food is the only thing thats not top notch, but there is a lot of choice and you will always find something you like. There are baggy vehicles available to take you around the island whenever you need, and druvers are some of the nicest people on staff. Massages at O spa are the best I ever had! Thank you for making our honeymoon so beautiful! We recommend it! Read less
