The hotel

When you step through the doors of this adults only resort, you'll instantly know you've reached paradise. Soak up the splendour of your surroundings with typical Mauritian architecture, decor inspired by the sea, and a roundabout bar with 360º views of the pool and glistening ocean beyond. The resort is located in front of one of the largest lagoons of Mauritius, Anse la Raie lagoon, and you can spend your days trying out the complimentary water sports, including glass bottom boat rides, or sail out on the resorts catamaran with daily full day excursions (at extra costs). There's also a luxurious spa (not forgetting the 3 swimming pools too) for those relaxing days. Either way, we guarantee you won't want to leave.

This is our 3rd consecutive year staying at Lagoon Attitude, as I don't feel it's necessary to run through all their excellent amenities again (our repeat visits speak for themselves!) I thought I would use this review as a shout out to all the amazing Attitude Family members who made us feel so welcome and special. Without further ado, our warmest shout outs go to: Milana at reception who immediately recognized us and made checking in and out seamless. Ram who warmly and efficiently served us at Beneitier and TabaJ. Ganesha at Sea Breeze who was a total speed master making cocktails and who always remembered our regular order. Ragini who handled restaurant bookings and assisted us always with a smile at breakfast. Geeta, our lovely greeter at Benetier. A big shout out to our special friend Akinesh (Aki) at Benetier who has been there since our first visit. Ajit at Wave Bar kept our drinks flowing during the evening entertainments. Huge thanks to Swasee on housekeeping for service with the brightest smile and leaving our rooms fresh and clean each day. Young Anisha at Benetier was polite and attentive. Special notice to Ranveer at Benetier and TabaJ who is such a gracious man, makes you feel right at home instantly. Again another familiar favorite, big thanks to Marcello at Coral for always making us laugh and being such a lovely host. Mention to young Julian at Benetier for his attentive service and to Ache who was just starting out and already looks to be on his way to being a great team member. Thanks also to Permal at Coral for his knowledge of the dishes and smooth service. I'd also love to thank the chef at Coral who made the desserts, she did a fabulous job! Delicious. Lastly also to Nazranah at Sea Breeze for the lovely cool drinks for those hot beach days! Lagoon Attitude is not just a wonderful location and a beautiful resort, it's a place where every day you're surrounded by a great friendly team of people that keep us coming back! Read less

We just returned from a lovely 10-night stay at Lagoon Attitude in Mauritius, and as far as all-inclusive resorts go, this has to be one of the best we’ve experienced. Food: The buffet food, while not something we would choose every night, was always fresh, hot, plentiful and offered a good variety. It was served in a clean, welcoming, and friendly environment. The resort also features three à la carte restaurants, which were all fantastic. While booking is required (and they were fully booked during our first week), we managed to visit each one once during our stay. They were definitely worth the wait: Coral: A silver-service restaurant with absolutely amazing food. Lemon Grass: An Asian inspired venue with a beautiful open kitchen, offering an intimate dining experience and superb dishes. Kot Nou: A Creole themed restaurant that was very enjoyable. TABAj: A fantastic lunch time location serving a variety of “street food” daily based on noodles, curries and BBQ. Facilities: The resort is well designed, with areas that cater to every kind of guest. There are peaceful, tranquil spots for relaxation, as well as a lively main pool with daily games and a pool/beach bar. The beaches are dotted around the complex, offering a mix of laid-back and active spaces. Everything was exceptionally clean, and sunbeds were always available, we never had to queue or struggle to find one. Weather: One thing to note is that it’s consistently windy. While the breeze is welcome in the heat, it can feel a bit much at times. That said, the hotel is thoughtfully designed, so you can easily find sheltered spots if needed. It was just windier than we expected. Rooms: The rooms are clean but quite basic. The main issue is the bathroom design, it has no door and a large window overlooking the bedroom, making it feel like part of the room. While the shower and toilet have partially frosted glass doors, the toilet door is not full length/ airtight. It wasn’t an ideal setup for us and might not suit everyone. In hindsight, we may have reconsidered booking had we known this beforehand. However, despite the room design, we are so glad we chose this hotel because everything else was truly exceptional. Staff: Every single member of staff from the moment we arrived to closing the taxi door were smiling and helpful, everyone here works super hard, but some additional thanks must be shared with; Ganshan, Ajit, Akhilesh, Vivek, Bradley, Begum, Ranveer, Sachin and his team at Tabaj! Navigating check in and check out times can always be tricky, especially when hotel schedules rarely align with flight times. When I booked the hotel a year ago, I emailed them to request an early check in and late check out. On arrival, we were fortunate to only wait an hour before getting access to our room earlier than expected. However, our experience at check out was far less smooth, despite making multiple requests. The first time I inquired prior to arrival, they advised me to speak to them upon check in. When I brought it up during check in, they said it was too early to confirm but assured me they’d note the request in their system and advised me to check back the day before departure. On the day before, we followed up again, and they promised to let us know, only to fail to provide an update. Finally, on the morning of our departure, they informed us that a late check out was not possible. This was both frustrating and disappointing, as it left us with six hours to wait before our flight. A far from ideal way to end an otherwise fantastic holiday. What made it worse was discovering that other guests leaving on the same day had managed to secure late check-outs. It was a major letdown from the reception team, but thankfully, it didn’t overshadow the rest of our wonderful stay. Summary: Staff: 11/10 – The staff go above and beyond. Food: 8/10 – While you can’t please everyone with an all inclusive menu, the à la carte restaurants are fantastic (though tough to book) 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 – Immaculate throughout. Rooms: 7/10 – This comes down to personal preference. Eco-friendliness: 10/10 – The resort’s commitment to sustainability is excellent. Reception 5/10 - Let us down on communication and consideration for our flight times. Overall, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend Lagoon Attitude! Read less
