Set within its own lagoon in South Nilandhe Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 40 minutes by seaplane transfer (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Grand Beach Villa with Pool are split-level with a bedroom and lounge with high ceilings, a king-size bed, comfy sofa, mood lighting and floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading to the fully-furnished terrace. Steps away from the beach, with a secluded walled courtyard hosting an outdoor bathroom, private pool, and oversized daybed and loungers. Sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Beach Residence with Pool are set over two floors, with a large lounge and expansive terrace with daybeds, loungers and a dining area. Upstairs, the bedroom has elevated lagoon views. My wife and I traveled to the Maldives to celebrate our 1st anniversary, and our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Veli was absolutely incredible. Several people made our trip truly special—our ambassador, Sharyaan, our diving instructor, Sappé, and Chaw from the Chemistry Bar. A Big Thank You to Sharyaan From the very start, Sharyaan was exceptionally polite, professional, and dedicated to making our stay comfortable. He took care of all our inclusions and bookings, ensuring our itinerary was perfectly planned. What truly impressed us was his honesty and determination—he went out of his way to secure reservations we thought were impossible, including spa sessions and excursions that were initially fully booked. Yet, somehow, he made it happen! We are Jains, so we have strict dietary preferences and restrictions, and as expected, we faced some initial challenges with the food. This happens almost everywhere we travel, but Sharyaan took the initiative to truly understand our needs. He even arranged an exclusive meeting with the Indian Chef, Nikhil, and made sure that our romantic candlelight dinner menu was completely Jain-friendly and tailored to our preferences. This level of thoughtfulness and care made our experience even more special. Sappé – The Scuba Legend! Another highlight of our trip was our first scuba diving experience, guided by the amazing Sappé. He has an incredible sense of humor, which instantly put us at ease and made us comfortable and confident in the water. One of us knew how to swim, while the other didn’t, but Sappé assured us that swimming skills wouldn’t make much of a difference—and he was right! He helped us overcome our fear of deep waters and introduced us to the breathtaking underwater world of the Maldives, filled with colorful fish, turtles, and even baby sharks. We truly fell in love with the deep blue ocean, all thanks to him! If you’re a beginner, we highly recommend the beginner scuba package, which includes: ✔ 45 minutes of diving ✔ 45 minutes of snorkeling with a dedicated guide ✔ A small, limited group for a personalized experience ✔ An exclusive boat with hospitality service, including drinks and light snacks ✔ Unlimited GoPro pictures and videos to capture every magical moment underwater It was a 5-star scuba experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Sappé! Chaw from Chemistry Bar – The Heart of Hospitality Another person who truly made our trip special was Chaw from Chemistry Bar. She was incredibly warm, polite, welcoming, and cheerful. Her excellent hospitality and genuine smile made us feel so comfortable. She went out of her way to spoil us with fantastic service and great conversations. What made our interactions even more special was how she shared her love for India, talking about how much she enjoys Indian cuisine and culture. She also told us a bit about her personal background, which made us feel even more at home. Her welcoming nature truly stood out, and we will always remember the warmth she brought to our experience. The best part of our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Veli was the exceptional staff! Truly - every single person was incredibly friendly and attentive. By Day 3, everyone seemed to know our names (or at least our faces) and checked in to see how we enjoyed our daytime activities, dinners, etc. I'd like to give a very special shout out to three staff members. Lena, our personal concierge, was available at all hours of the day. She was so quick to respond and thoughtful with our schedule organization. She accommodated every single request. Abhi, our waiter at Aqua Orange, was just a joy. He was a friendly face that we'll never forget at each breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Finally, Jahidul managed our housekeeping and was absolutely the best. He kept the mini bar stocked and left special message in palm leaves or towel animals on our bed every day! He was incredibly attentive and checked in to make sure we liked everything each day too. Beyond the staff, our trip was everything we hoped it would be. The waters are crystal clear, the rooms are luxurious and private, and the views are just breathtaking. We loved the Adults Only pool and bar area. We would also highly recommend the scuba diving excursion! For beginners without a certification, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see an incredible reef! Our only complaint MAY just be a cultural difference/expectation. I'm not sure. As an American who is used to all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean though, we did feel that the food options were limited. At this resort, there are no dining options available 24/7 with your all-inclusive package. In-room dining (room service) is always an additional charge. The buffet is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at no extra charge. Two other restaurants are available but require reservations well in advance. This was our first time to the Maldives and wasn't sure what to expect, but it was Paradise. It is just what you imagine, spotless white sandy beaches with turquoise waters. We were worried that we might get bored if we stayed for more than a week, but we actually didn't do much sunbathing at all. If you like to be active, there are plenty of excursions, activities, water sports you can book and we spent hours snorkelling from the back of our villa. The organisation was excellent, from the minute you you land and walk through with your luggage, to the time you cross back through passport control and sadly wave goodbye. Sun Siyam Iru Veli is a beautiful resort and the staff who work there make you feel very special. Enormous thanks to Adam, Leo, Abhi, Uma and Jeena who took great care of us every day.
