Flamingo

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

The hotel was clean and well priced. The lady at the front desk was kind and friendly. I had a great stay. The location was ideal, because there were plenty of things to do in and around the hotel. I would definitely go back and stay in this hotel again.

When booking rooms, make sure to get a Flamingo room as those are the most newly remodeled ones. Pricing is about average for a Las Vegas hotel, but the location is perfect being near the center of the strip as well as at a monorail stop making it really easy to get wherever you need to go along the strip. Rooms were spacy and comfortable (we had… Read more

Booked a Flamingo King, and with a small upcharge, was given a mini suite with a foosball table! 28th floor, overlooking the Habitat. Coffee maker and refrigerator in the room. Room service was great, room was super clean, elevators were fast. Did not eat on the property or use the fitness room. Pool was closed due to season as well as… Read more

We love the strip location as well as steps to the Linq Promenade - so much to do and eat there! We would definitely stay at the Flamingo again! Read less

My husband and I booked a renovated room with strip view and the room has a lot of ware and tear. The bathroom had mold. We were given a room on the 14th floor out of 28 floors so the strip view wasn’t the greatest. We were offered a complimentary night which we took then saw they added a night and then the complimentary night. I contacted the front desk from the room as I only wanted one night if it was complimentary and they weren’t about to help me. They asked me to go to the front desk which I did, waited in a long line to be told they couldn’t help me and I had to contact the consumer service number from the email promo. Which I don’t understand if the email was from The Flamingo why they weren’t able to help me. Once I got someone on the phone from customer service they were able to give me the one night complimentary but wanted me to get in line at front desk again for it to get approved and I could get a new set of key cards. The line was double the size from earlier. I decided to just cancel it completey and booked an MGM property, where we usually stay at. Never staying in Caesars properties again. Read less

We called the front desk and asked to be transferred, but they told us that an engineer had to first confirm the issue. Finally around 1am, a service technician named Victor came, inspected the thermostat, and said that he would call the Senior Watch and tell them that our room was not fit for occupancy. When we got to the front desk, the Hotel Manager informed us that the Senior Watch said we refused service, and so had to stay in the room. We asked to have Victor come to the front desk, but he told us it was against hotel policy. We finally just asked for a refund and got a room next door at the Linq Hotel, where the manager there was horrified by how the Flamingo treated us I hope the Flamingo goes the way of the Tropicana and Mirage: torn down and replaced with a better hotel.
