Image of the Tripadvisor rating Decent hotel, great location, prepare to walk up and down the stairs (11 flights for us) due to the elevator situation.

The hotel is generally nice, with clean rooms. The staff were friendly. The location is ideal. Negatives were that the rooms are as small as everyone says they are. However, the biggest issue is the elevator situation. We stayed on the 11th floor and had to walk up and down almost every time we needed to go to the lobby. This includes having to… Read more

However, the biggest issue is the elevator situation. We stayed on the 11th floor and had to walk up and down almost every time we needed to go to the lobby. This includes having to carry our luggage down 11 flights to checkout! If an elevator did stop on our floor it was always full. The staff said the elevator problems were only at breakfast and checkout times but that was not true. If that was true that would still mean there were no elevators to take from 6-11am everyday 😳. Everything you read in the reviews about this hotel are pretty straight on so I knew what to expect. The hotel is nicely located near many tourist spots making it easy to walk. Everything you read in the reviews about this hotel are pretty straight on so I knew what to expect. The hotel is nicely located near many tourist spots making it easy to walk. We took an uber from LGA and the hotel has a nice loading area for taxis/ubers. We did have to check in at the desk even though I checked in via the app. I had three rooms reserved and had to ask for my complimentary waters. Our rooms were all on the 30th floor (hotel has 31 floors and a small rooftop you can walk out on). The elevator wait was not super bad but long considering there's three elevators (one was out of service when we arrived but working the next morning). Elevators are small so not many people can fit. The three rooms were all near each other. We did rooms 3007, 3008 and 3009. Each were king city views. 3008 has the best view and you can see the side of the Empire State Building from it. It also had the best room layout of the three. The only think I didn't like was the barn door for the bathroom where the other two rooms had a standard door. The barn door had large slots you can see through and needed to use the lock so it wouldn't slide open on its own. Rooms were clean and tidy. Housekeeping was helpful with more towels. Hallways are very short so I'd recommend these rooms as they are at the end of the hallway. 3007 is in a side hall across from 3005. There's always a wait for the elevator to go down. Being higher up secured our spot in the elevator. However we stopped at least 5x on the way down each time. We did the free breakfast both days. Saturday the line was manageable. Sunday was about 2x the amount of people. The folks that work there hustle and keep everything stocked while being super polite. I give the food team kudos and k hope management will recognize them from this review. We took some nice pictures in the hotel's lobby. They have coffee and tea to keep you warm. There's a water refill in the gym if you bring a reusable bottle. The concierge was busy helping the crowds in the lobby and moving people around to avoid a jam. You can easily have them set up a ride back to the airport. The men wearing hoodies were at the same spot another reviewer mentioned. They didn't seem to bother anyone and now I'm curious as to why they are always there! Overall a great stay. Read less

We stayed here for 5 nights. They were able to accommodate our family of 6 with 2 adjoining rooms. The breakfast was good but extremely packed everyday. We didn’t get to sit as a family but that wasn’t a huge deal. The elevators were ridiculous. Only 2 of the 3 worked most of the trip. We had to plan extra time just to allow for the wait for the… Read more

We had to plan extra time just to allow for the wait for the elevator. We would have taken the stairs if we weren’t over 20 floors up. There was a group of men that would stand right next to the hotel every evening when it got late. It seemed a little sketchy. We were thankful that you had to have a hotel key to enter the front doors and to go up on the elevator. We would stay here again. Read less

Because of the great reviews. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and informative on what the hotel offered. They gave us free water bottles due to us having Hilton Honors and explained all of the other perks. The room itself was small but clean. For two people, there was more than enough room. Having access to the rooftop was very cool too as you had a pretty clear view of Times Square and all that goes on around it. The only downside were the elevators. At one point 2 out of the 3 went down and the lines to get into one were long. We didn’t really mind it, but we did overhear of a lot of complaints. All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and would stay again in the future. Read less

The location of this hotel is great! Super convenient to Rockefeller Center, Times Square and a brief walk to both central park and grand central. We had a two double bed room. The room was small but clean. There was two adults and a 5 year old, so it worked just fine for one night. The breakfast was fine. There's more options in the downstairs section, which I didn't realize. The staff was all very nice and they have a big area to store bags if you're checking in and out and they were great. My only complaint was the elevator system. It got really bogged down during check in time and breakfast. Made it really hard to navigate, particularly with a stroller, but maybe it was just crazy do to it being Christmas time. Read less
