The hotel

There’s nothing like shooting hoops against a skyscraper-swept backdrop. It’s also the view enjoyed while playing pickleball or take a morning rooftop jog at Hilton Atlanta. Don't worry, it's not all about fitness here - you're just a stroll from CNN Center, World of Coca-Cola, and Georgia Aquarium. You could also head to the Southern Elements restaurant, offering traditional Southern Cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or find yourself in the Trader Vic’s, featuring hand-carved tikis, palm-thatched ceilings, and south pacific décor offering an international menu and tropical cocktails, including the Peachtree Punch, a signature cocktail of Trader Vic’s Atlanta. The star here is Nickolai’s Roof, a penthouse restaurant whose menu’s drizzled with fine dining buzzwords like ‘veloute’, ‘confit’ and ‘truffle demi glace’.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Atlanta Hilton. I stayed here twice within two weeks in October while attending concerts at the Tabernacle and State Farm Arena. I adore classic older hotels especially Hilton properties. I have stayed in the Tokyo Hilton and the Washington Hilton in DC in previous reviews. Let me first start if you're expecting a sleek modern hotel that is newer this might not be the hotel for you. If you're looking for a classic hotel with great infrastructure with one of the last remaining Trader Vic's in the United States this might be the place for you. It's the kind of hotel that Anthony Bourdain would appreciate. One of the best things is the amazing underground parking deck that actually has self parking for a reasonable 25 dollars. One thing to note is the parking deck isn't connected to the lobby so you have a little haul to get to the elevators. This didn't really bother me. I really liked the staff. I found them charming and friendly. I don't agree with the previous mediocre reviews. Both rooms were clean and everything functioned well. I really liked the black out curtains and my room was quiet. The bed and pillows were super comfy. My one complaint is I would like an old school paper menu for room service and also Trader Vic's. Relying on QR codes looking at a smart phone is frustrating. I never saw a room service menu so guess what, I never ordered room service. Also a pad of paper with a pen in the room would be helpful. I really enjoyed my meal at Trader Vic's. I had the wonton soup and the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly and delicious. It gets crowded on Friday and Saturday. I also liked the Marketplace Cafe. You can get alcohol and food at the cafe. I did use the gym and I liked it. I walked on a treadmill for a while. I found the gym adequate plus it is open 24 hours which was great. It was October so too cold to swim in the pool outside. I was able to walk ten minutes to the Marta Peachtree Station then take a train to the State Farm Arena. Not a lot of stuff right next the hotel but there are some convenience stores nearby. Downtown Atlanta is a big city so just be careful walking around late at night. Overall I really enjoyed my experience and I would definitely stay here again especially if I am driving a car. Read less

Cedric was incredibly helpful in accommodating me. They helped me avoid quite a bit of inconvenience during my stay (due to external logistics, no fault of the hotel). Thank you for excellent customer service! My stay in Atlanta will be much better because of this customer service!

I like how this hotel had multiple dining options for guest convenience, about 3 diff restaurants and the marketplace= which had everything you need from snacks/(hot) food, toiletries, souvenirs and more.- Every hotel should have a marketplace like this. I like the outside track and sports area, I notice there was plenty of seating areas throughout the hotel for guest who who were waiting, wanted to relax or taking care of business. I like the room I was given, it was not a far walk from the elevators and had a great view. The only thing is that it was not as cleaned. The mini fridge has some stains inside, the vents were rusty and the bed sheets had something on them. It was also kind of noisy as I could constantly hear the door of the person next to me slamming hard and traffic outside. The gym was nice and plenty of machines to workout also included towels, water bottles, earbuds and bathrooms inside the gym. Although one of my questions was not answered at first, a cool option was that guest could text the front desk with any questions or needs. Probably had more pros than cons so I think I would stay here again. Read less

I generally liked this hotel. Main problem was contacting the front desk in advance of my visit (just couldn’t get through and Hilton central couldn’t help me) and getting my receipt. I checked out online and via text. It took 3 days and repeated texts to obtain my receipt. Then I got a barrage of emails – all to a different address than I had requested. Lol. It’s fine, but I don’t see why they asked for my email and then didn’t send it to the email that I specified. Hilton is a really messed up hotel chain. Any group rate means that you cannot get any help through the Hilton main number or online. This is so stupid. The hotel itself is fine. Looks older, especially compared to the Marriott next door. But the room was nice, and the housekeeping was first rate. Very efficient. Provided extra cups and coffeemate based on my request written on a napkin. I was attending a conference, popping in and out of my room. The cleaners always managed to clean my room when I hoped they would. I was staying on the top floor, and I do not recommend this. Takes forever to get down the elevator. They have 8 elevators, but none are designated as express for the upper floors. Nice little “market” on the 1st floor. Picked up some Trader Vic’s fried rice there that I really enjoyed. Also, I got a welcome package with macaroons that was excellent. Not sure where these came from, but I would get more. Conference rooms were fine. Too cold, which is standard. But a nice little conference zone overall. Easy access to Marriot. Recommend getting coffee there at Starbucks. Order on the app, and it seems to always be ready by the time you get there. Read less
