The Edgewater

The hotel

Sitting right on top of Pier 67, this is Seattle's original waterfront hotel and quite the local landmark. It’s always been a quirky and cool spot, since it was built in 1962 — KISS parked their platform boots here and The Beatles once famously fished out of their hotel room window. We don’t recommend that, of course, but you can imagine the playful and chilled vibe that you get at the the Edgewater. Expect quirky, cosy rooms with beautiful views of Elliott Bay, happy hours showcasing amazing house concoctions, and a restaurant serving the freshest organic and local dishes. Take in a bit of live music at the weekend and dine outdoors to make the most of those water views.

White sludge in coffeemaker reservoir. Insultingly pompous maître d. Imprisoned in my room due to dead battery in door lock mechanism; promised rescue never arrived. Front desk and wait staff excellent (mystery why they stay under such ramshackle management). Food at restaurant also very good, tho wildly overpriced.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and the bedding very nice. The restaurant and room service served excellent meals. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying again. Cheers!

Amazing stay - this place is clean, has wonderful decor and updated finishes. The room was awesome with a fireplace and you're literally over the water. The wifi was a bit weak since I was there for a work trip but it actually worked fine and I'd 100% stay here again - especially for a personal trip. The bed was amazing. 5 stars.

Loved my stay at the Edgewater Inn. The view of Beautiful Elliott Bay, the waterfront, and the Seattle city skyline was breathtaking! No where else can you stay in a hotel built right over the water. I lived in Seattle from 1975 until 2001 at which time I moved to Utah. I knew about the Edgewater Inn but had never been there or stayed there. Upon my return this December 2024 I wanted to have an experience. Even though the price seemed high to me, I knew it would be worth it because of the unique history and location. My brother joined me and after check in we visited the music room and picked out a record player and some classic records, What a cool perk! We threw the window open in the room and took in the view! We don’t have such a view in Utah! I missed the Seattle experience. We listened to the sounds of the city, the water and the seagulls while playing a little Journey and some other vintage music. That was cool! We enjoyed the fireplace and never even turned on the television. It was a wonderful stay. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Everything was very clean and displayed beautifully. The front desk, women were so accommodating and kind and the Inn was decorated beautifully for Christmas. I could’ve stayed somewhere else for a cheaper price, but I would never have had such a fantastic experience. I highly recommend taking time to explore the Inn while you are there. Seeing the photos from famous visitors past was a neat touch. This was a quick trip, but I hope to come back and stay another time when the weather is warmer and actually get a balcony with seating. Such a memorable stay. Knowing the history of the Inn by watching the videos and reading helped me appreciate the whole experience. It’s pricey for someone on a budget like me- but save up and go with the whole experience in mind. If you sit in your room with the TV on and never take in the views- you’ll be disappointed. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Loved being in bed with the window open and feeling the breeze and hearing all the sounds. It was magical for me. You have to make an effort to take it all in. Many Thanks to the Edgewater Inn and staff for allowing me a unique experience I will never forget. Read less
