Great Place for a Stay
Dec 6, 2024mcawbyStuart, Florida
Great place located just off the highway and close to all the attractions. The wife and I walked a loop to all of the attractions. Will be planning a return trip soon likely in the winter for a longer stay so we can see everything that we missed in this short trip.

I was in Savannah for a wedding, and my previous reservation with another hotel was a disaster. I went online and booked very easily. The staff was so polite and helpful. The property was beautiful and very comfortable room. I highly recommend this hotel.
How to make money

We liked the location of the hotel and most of the staff was very friendly.
BUT we were very disappointed about the room. When you pay around 300 per night (incl pet fee) you're expecting something. The suite was so depressing with dark grey floors, everything dark, almost no lights (we had to use the iPhone lamp in some cases).

BUT we were very disappointed about the room. When you pay around 300 per night (incl pet fee) you're expecting something. The suite was so depressing with dark grey floors, everything dark, almost no lights (we had to use the iPhone lamp in some cases).
On top our view was a concrete high wall some meters from our window.
For our two cats we had to pay 100 usd per night!
Ridiculous in such a evacuation situation. When I asked the receptionist she said there once was an incident with pet poop/puke on the wall. Well, you could do a deposit of 200 per booking for these kind of case and use if really needed. But come on, for 4 nights we had to pay 400 (ex vat) on top for just the cats!
And the cleaning couple were afraid to come in the room. So we only had one time a cleaning in 4 days, only the sit area of the room (cats in bedroom).
The cleaning couple (sweet people though) had a storage room at the same floor that had door open for most of the day. You couldn't pass without looking in an extremely dirty room, dirt all over the floor. As a hotel you should also clean this kind of areas and also make an elevator look well maintained.
Only after (!) booking the hotel a message was sent that the restaurant was closed. That felt a bit being tricked. For us booking a hotel with a restaurant - and meeting there our evacuated co-workers - seemed like a big plus.
Why not mention this clearly on top of the description of your hotel?

Manager cancelled my booking and kicked me out because of my service dog

I arrived at the TRYP Wyndham at 11pm after a six-hour drive, evacuating from Florida due to Hurricane Milton, with my service dog. The front desk staff insisted on charging a $50 pet fee, despite me explaining that my dog is a service animal. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it’s *illegal* to require proof of a service animal, such as a vest, or to charge fees for them, but she refused to acknowledge this.
Despite me offering to show the official letter from my doctor and then offering to pay the fee just to get my room, she canceled my reservation, leaving me stranded with nowhere to stay at 11pm at night alone with my dog. I ended up at the Cambria hotel next door, where they were kind and quickly helped me. The treatment I received at TRYP Wyndham was not only inappropriate but a violation of federal law. I am disgusted, I have never been treated this way ever.
