We took a trip on dune buggy’s that was very fun and I recommend it to everyone visiting the island. GREG was the guide! The tour takes you on a very adventurous tour of the island! In conclusion the island is beautiful with awesome people! Read less

We stayed at this resort for Christmas. We reserved a Rondoval butler suite. The suite was absolutely gorgeous and was maintained spotlessly. The resort is also well kept and beautiful. The butlers were great but you have to let them know your expectations. For example, before arriving you fill out a butler preference sheet. We did so identifying what snacks we like, When we didn't get afternoon snacks and sparkling wine as requested on preference sheet our butler told us while they were happy to provide that but they only do so by request. I thought the preference sheet was our request. (I'm not being picky thus is just one example of a few.) Keep in mind the butlers are not mind readers and suffice it to say once you tell the butlers you expectations they go above and beyond to meet them. The down side, and it was a BIG downside was the food. We've stayed an numerous all inclusives and this Sandals, hands down, had the worst food and restaurant service we have ever experienced. Unfortunately, no matter how beautiful the resort & rooms are, food can make or break your experience. Halcyon needs to up their food game (particularly at Kelly's Dockside) and re-train their wait staff and chefs. Five stars on resort aesthetics and rooms. One star for food. Read less

It seemed like someone checked in on us each day to see how we were enjoying our stay and always asked if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. Shenelle called to check on us on my husband’s birthday. She brought a gift and a lovely card to the room right after we spoke. She also came to say good bye when we left. The resort is beautiful, the food is good, but the best part is the staff. Friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Sandals has a smooth efficient operation to be sure! Read less

To put things in context, we booked this holiday sold on the brand of Sandals, and chose it over a small family hotel in Barbados that we knew. We were hoping to snorkel from the beach and enjoy the sunshine. It was significantly more expensive than Barbados. We were met at the airport by a man in a Sandals shirt who took our cases and wheeled them 20 yards across a smooth floor to a waiting lounge and then demanded a tip ‘English money is ok’. We were then called to a minibus and had to collect our own bags and carry them out. One of those small things, but our first experience of Sandals. The transfer is about 1.5 hours, and the roads are somewhat bumpy and the old minibus had collapsed springs in the seat and was most uncomfortable. At the hotel, we are ushered into a waiting lounge and handed a cocktail- things are looking up. By now, we are exhausted and just want to get to our room and freshen up but our room isn’t ready and our wait is another hour or so. I’m getting grumpy by now. Fast forward to the end of the holiday and there is a charge of $100 to stay in your room beyond 11am. If you are going to do that, have the rooms ready when people arrive. So we get to the room, which is fine. I really wanted a ‘wow’, but that’s just my expectations. As we settle in, I notice that it isn’t very clean. Dust moving in clumps on the floor and old soap marks in the bathroom. The next day, we have breakfast and explore the resort. It is a lovely resort and the staff are wonderful. The food is excellent and the varied restaurants are lovely. The beach is very short and bare, and there is no snorkelling available on site. It’s not a beach you would want to visit. There are trips you can take, but again, compared to Barbados this was a disappointment. We spent most of our time by the longest pool in the Caribbean, frequenting the bar and reading. Because we were continually making comparisons, it should be noted that by the pool you won’t be offered a drink. Not a great hardship it must be admitted, but having paid so much more we were expecting top level service and our previous experience was being offered drinks every so often, either by the pool or on the beach. In conclusion, had we never been to an all inclusive Caribbean holiday, we would have thought it wonderful, but there are better options available and I won’t be going back to Sandals. Read less
