This really is a lovely resort that exudes British colonial charm through the gracious Georgian great house to intimate gardens and courtyards. Sandals Royal Caribbean is the place we chose for our honeymoon and it was amazing. The resort itself is on the smaller side when compared with the nearby Sandals Montego Bay (Which you can use). It has a nice cozy feel to it, with all the restaurants and activities within a two minute walk. The resort has a private island where the beautiful over-water bungalows are located. Food: Food overall was very good. We were however not very impressed with steaks on this trip. All of the steaks we tried were ok at best. The Jerk Shack is a must try, with the "Fish in Foil" and Jerk Chicken being amazing. Another must try are the beef and chicken Jerk patties at Mariners....delicious. Entertainment: The entertainment was incredible. The staff are very talented and put on amazing shows. They not only run the daily activities, but then change and perform in the main shows at night. Two specific member of the entertainment crew went out of their way to make our trip incredible. We would like to give a big thanks to Lady J (Jhanelle) and Caldian, who made our trip the amazing. So friendly and talented. Sandals needs to do whatever it takes to retain these two. We would come back just to see them again. Staff: Waiters and waitresses do an amazing job, while being overworked. Some of these poor servers have to serve half the restaurant at one time, which not only leads to worker fatigue, but slow service, yet not their fault. I really believe that Sandals should remove their no tipping policy because these folks deserve the tips and they are very hard workers and deserve to be compensated for their efforts. Overall Sandals Royal Caribbean was an amazing time and thanks to the two mentioned above, made our honeymoon incredible. Read less

My husband and I just recently visited Sandals Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. We had an amazing time. We enjoyed visiting the sister resort at Sandals Montego Bay. The vibe at Sandals Royal Caribbean was quiet and quaint so if you are looking for more of a party or even more energetic vibe this would not be the best Sandals resort for you. We were overwhelmed with the hearts of the staff. They were absolutely amazing. The entertainment team including Rowe and Lady Jay elevated our vacation! The only thing that would have made it better is if the fellow vacationers would stay to enjoy the entertainment with us in the evening. The DJ, dancers, musicians were all amazing. Mikis from the water sports team guided us on our Snuba diving excursion and we absolutely loved this excursion. He was patient and made us feel safe doing something neither of us had done before. This was our 7th trip to Sandals Royal Caribbean, so you can tell we really like the place. We haven't been in a couple of years, so we thought we'd review our week and drop a few names of the people who made our stay wonderful. There have been changes. The lobby is redone and has a little less personality, there is ongoing construction on one side of the resort and the beach is being expanded. (The new Balmoral Building looks almost complete and should be beautiful. Friends have already booked a stay in one of those new rooftop rooms.) Once that's open they will start on the new Kensington Building and new entrance. We spend almost all our time on the private island. Our butler, the AMAZING Gay-Ann, had us set up in the nice spot on the clothing-optional side every morning. The equally amazing Stacy, who we met at SRC 8 years ago, is still giving great beach service with her wonderful smile and hilarious toasts. It's such a great, relaxing spot where you meet the nicest people. And Owen at the island bar is a treasure. We look forward to seeing him whenever we return. We enjoyed the food and ate more than we should (as always). Our favorite is The Crickteer, the British Pub. We always seem to end up there either for dinner or late-night drinks and snacks (it's open until 2am). Le Jardinière, the French restaurant which I probably misspelled is wonderful, and our server Robert is one of the most delightful on property. The Jerk Shack on the island is great for lunch, and Garfield still has the best laugh in the Caribbean! Our room was always clean and tidy thanks to Rosan who took great care of us. We also got our gold crown award for staying our 84th Sandals night at Royal Caribbean. Gave us a chance to speak to Dawn, the general manager at SRC. We had a few hiccups early in our stay, but the staff bent over backwards to make things right for us and succeeded. Thanks so much to Gay-Ann, Andrei, Carlene, Darren & Kim. Just a few suggestions for the resort. First, the water entry at the clothing-optional beach is treacherous and getting worse. The area needs a lot of updating (and expanding!). Second: The hard white loungers throughout the resort are not good and haven't been for years. They should be replaced or at least equipped with cushions. Last but by no means least, enforce the smoking rules. The clothing-optional beach was under a cloud of smoke every day. Thankfully our wonderful butler had us upwind so the smoke didn't bother us 90% of the time. These are cigarettes, not weed. That said, we are booked to return next year (and the year after that!). Hope you get a chance to visit our island home away from home. Read less
